*UPDATE* bytethebook Event at The Club At The Ivy 18th June

17th June 2013:

Congratulations to Michelle Coleman, who has won the ticket to the Bytethebook event at The Club at The Ivy! It’s set to be an exciting night and we look forward to seeing everyone there!

Original Post:

Atwood Tate is delighted to be sponsoring what we hope will be a really interesting event called “What New Business Models are Emerging for Publishing in the Digital Age?” at The Club At The Ivy organised by bytethebook.

It’s going to be a stimulating evening with some inspiring speakers: Rebecca Smart (Osprey Books), Richard Kilgarriff (bookomi), John Bond (White Fox) and Michael Bhaskar (Profile Books) and it’s a buzzy networking night as well.

We have 1 free entry ticket to give away and will arrange for you to be on the guest list.

All you have to do is leave a comment on the blog to say in 1 or 2 sentences your thoughts on:

“What New Business Models are Emerging for Publishing in the Digital Age?”

Deadline is 9am on Monday 17th June and we’ll select the best one and let you know by 1pm.

Location: Map

Time: Tuesday 18th June, 18:30 – 21:30

If I’m understanding the questions correctly:
The digital era is enhancing publishing’s ability to create culturally/socially engaging content. Rather than working off a broadcast/ narrow cast model digital is opening up publishing to a model of participation and collaboration.

My prediction is that author cooperatives – like Bookviewcafe – will play a greater role: levelling the field for authors/small pubs who do not have skills but lack capital.
