It was a busy and buzzy London Book Fair this year – the last one at Earl’s Court before the move to Olympia. We had a fantastic time seeing all the publishers displaying their new and exciting books and products. Our stand was in the newly renamed Tech (aka Digital) zone and was busier than ever.
As well as the chance to meet some of the candidates we hadn’t managed to see at our office, it was a great place to catch up with our clients, and make lots of new contacts. This was the first year the Bookseller magazine had a specific jobs / careers section which we sponsored and this really focussed Atwood Tate as the go to publishing recruitment agency. They also launched the new Jobs page on their website and look forward to hearing your thoughts on it.
We also enjoyed going along to some of the seminars, I got to be on the panel for the Publisher’s Association seminar ‘The Changing Face of Publishing’ which looked at how the workforce is changing and the skills we need to make sure we’re keeping up.
All in all it was an exhausting (no voice left, aching feet) but very positive book fair and we hope you enjoyed it too!
